1. Speed
Spyder2Express takes around 13minutes to install 1st time AND several minutes to re-calibrate on
reminders (which you set).
Pantone Huey takes less than 5minutes to install 1st time AND around 2 minutes to re-calibrate on reminders (which you set)
ALL monitors drift in color, especially LCD Monitors and therefore your monitor needs ongoing recalibration. Professional Photographers recommend weekly recalibrations.
2. Accuracy
Both devices produce an accurate profile that is quite similar. Technically Huey slightly favors Reds, Colorvision favors Greens.
However this isn’t noticeable.

Portability and Accesibility
The Spyder2 is quite large and bulky in comparison to the Huey with its long thick cable, large counter weight and large hockey puck like Colorimeter device. Spyder2 weighs 230 grams to the Hueys 39grams. With the spyder2 you must unpack it, set it up, use it, pack it up and put it away. And you must repeat this on each reminder you set. The Huey stays by your side on your desk and only takes 3minutes to re-calibrate (as apposed the Spyders 7min), thus in reality gets used where the spyder typically stays in a draw gathering dust.

Ease of use
Both are extremely easy to use however the Huey is the simpler of the two devices. You can’t go wrong.
One simply installs the software disc, clicks on desktop icon, attaches the Huey to the screen, job done!
For those looking for a technical device then neither of these two devices will suffice.
Here one needs to be looking at either the Spyder2Pro ($499rrp) or the Eye-One Display2 by Gretagmcbeth ($549 rrp).

Features
The Spyder2 Express does have extra software in Adobe Photoshop album – this is downloadable for free at adobes site. The Huey does come with some nice screen wipes. Handy as the first thing both devices stress is to clean your screen before beginning. The Huey also has the ambient light Adjustment feature which is really cool – you can set it’s adjustment frequency or completely disable the feature and simply do a manual test when desired. The Huey also places an icon down in the tool bar near your clock. The main benefit of this besides the previous features controls is the ability to switch between your different preset monitor appearances eg. Web, photo editing, gaming, etc.
Overall Conculsion: The Huey is newer, faster, smarter!
