Phishing and Email Scams
Many online retailers and financial institutions have recently been targeted by fraudsters. Customers have been sent bogus emails asking for their confidential login details so that accounts can be reactivated or credit card numbers can be confirmed. Once this information has been obtained it is often used fraudulently.
We strongly recommend that you guard against these emails and never reveal your password to anyone. Cartridges Direct will never ask for your passwords details via email and there is no credit card information kept on file.

Further Security
We take the security of our site and the transfer of information very seriously, this is why when ever you enter your personal details to place an order with us it is done via a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) between your computer and ours. SSL works in the following ways;
- It prevents impersonation: you can tell that you’re using a genuine secure site by the web page address beginning with https: and the padlock either on the bottom right corner of your browser or next to the web site address. When you double click on this padlock will show you all of the details of our security certificate which is issued by Equifax, a leading internet security company.
- It encrypts data: As soon as our computer has recognized your computer the data being transferred between them in instantly encrypted. Data encryption means that no one else can read or change the information as it travels over the internet.
- It prevents scrambling: SSL uses Message Authentication Code (MAC) to prevent anyone else messing with our internet site. Your computer will always check this code before receiving data from us. This means that if the data has been interfered with your computer will recognize it and alert you immediately.
