Epson Launch Sustainable Printer Range For Business

It’s not surprising to see Epson have found their way into the spotlight once again, although this time it is not their printing aptitude that is being celebrated, but their sustainable printers that have been launched to service the business landscape. We are now reaching a point where there are more printing manufacturers than not who are supporting sustainable practises, and the CartridgesDirect team look forward to seeing how Epson can bring these values into production by designing printing tech to the same standard we have seen from them for many decades. Now let’s get to know the Epson Workforce range.

The Epson Workforce range

There are seven A3 printing units that comprise the Epson Workforce range, targeted to the small business operator and corporate market through their multifunction design. These multifunctional printers are set to roll out in April of 2020, with a starting price of $4,995, priced competitively for the offering and the 2020 market. So where does the energy savings come from? The entire range is using Epson’s PrecisionCore heat-free technology. Eliminating the heat variant has significantly reduced the energy consumption, and by all accounts has not impacted the quality of the output in any way. Epson is proud to stand behind the fact that their WorkForce range emits no ozone gas, a feat which few can claim.

Epson has even come out to say that each page printed uses a staggering 87% less energy. This is incredibly compelling, and will likely influence the decision-makers looking to enhance their printing technology while reducing their impact and energy bills. Not dipping their toe in the market, but rather arriving with a fleet of seven sustainable printers, it’s fair to say this will be an area of growth for the print giant Epson.

The Epson Workforce range includes the following models:

  • WorkForce Pro WF-C878R

  • WorkForce Pro WF-C878RTC

  • WorkForce Pro WF-C879R

  • WorkForce Pro WF-C879RTC

  • WorkForce Enterprise WF-C20600 at 60 ppm

  • WorkForce Enterprise WF-C20750 at 75 ppm

  • WorkForce Enterprise WF-C21000 at 100 ppm

What can we expect from the base model, Epson WorkForce Pro WF-C878R?

Let’s take a closer look at the base model, Epson WorkForce Pro WF-C878R, and see how it stacks up. This model, and the entire Epson WorkForce range, is an A3 copy size and can take a maximum load of 999 pages. The printing resolution by no means takes a backseat to the no-heat technology, offering a 4800x1200 dpi. The scan, copy and fax resolution is also relatively high which will be a selling point to a number of multifaceted businesses. The Heat Free PrecisionCore 4S printhead 4 Colour inkjet comes with a replaceable ink pack system. The reason it’s directed to the corporate market is that it has greater longevity, meaning that businesses need to replace ink cartridges less and can ultimately spend less on the maintenance and production of output. It can produce 86,000 mono prints and 50,000 colour prints without changing the ink. A claim that should capture the attention of many.

Another feature that has been well received by offices is the quiet nature of the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-C878R, with the printing unit having no fan noise that we have come to know as a fact of printing. It’s also a straightforward design, ensuring that there are fewer parts to replace than you would expect from a typical laser, again making this a more cost-effective option for any business. At CartridgesDirect, we haven’t yet had the fortune of trialling the Epson WorkForce range, although the design intention very much aligns with the values and mission of our team. When these seven A3 multifunction printers arrive at our doors, you can begin ordering through CartridgesDirect with free shipping on orders over $75.

Epson now has another credit to add to their belt, and we believe that this is just the start of what we will see from Epson’s sustainable product push. There is also a responsibility for all of us to seek the best option on the market, and one that does not contribute negatively to our environment or ethical practises. If you would like to learn more about how CartridgesDirect supports sustainability, reach out to our team to find out which initiatives we partner and which of our inventory is also low energy.
