Anyone can move into a house, but it is the interior decor that will turn it into a home. Every person and family has their own traits that defines them. As a homeowner or resident, you want to inject those traits into your home. There are several options for improving the look and feel of the interior design in your home. Making lighting design adjustments, new paint or buying new furniture. However, one of the simplest and cost effective ways to improve the look and feel of your home is with your very own printer. Not sure how? Here’s a few ways you can use it to alter the interior design within your home.

Use it to print and hang framed photos

Nothing defines the story of your home more than photos of your loved ones. You can easily print photos from your desktop or portable device to photographic paper. The photo can then be framed and placed on walls or shelves throughout your home.

You will find that placing the photos around the home will narrate a story of the people in your family and what they mean to you. Memories will always be cherished and will be part of the substance for creating a happy home.

Use it to print and hang framed artwork

You don’t have to purchase expensive artwork. You can easily find your favourite images online and print them so that they can be framed and hung on the wall as a part of your home’s interior design. You can even colour coordinate it with the frame that you choose.

Most of us have dozens, if not hundreds, of photos on out Smartphones and Computers, but they don’t have to stay there. Neither do they just have to be framed to display them. This couple found a number of innovative ways to demonstrate their creativity.

Use it to create 3D photo dolls.

This is a little bit of a different idea, but it can definitely add an alternative sense of character to your home. Print out your favourite photos onto either normal paper or photographic paper. Glue the image onto a wooden block and then carve out the part of the image that you would like to be the wooden doll. If you have a family portrait, you can create 3D photo dolls for each member of the family and place them in different areas around your home.

Use it to create photo tiles.

Photo tiles are a great way to redefine an empty space in your home by turning it into a captivating and visually appealing area on your wall. Simply print out the images that you want and stick them to tiles (which you can purchase cheaply from the hardware store). There is a great DIY guide that you can follow here.

It doesn’t just have to be photos either. If you have a fabric which has a design, texture and colours that you like just drape it tightly across the flatbed scanner, scan it to photo printing paper and frame the result. It’s a unique artwork.

The powerful combination of your creative flair, and your printer creates a décor that is as individual as you and your life to give an inexpensive, fresh look to your home.
