Despite a slightly more expensive setup cost, when you buy continuous ink printers, there are a few things you can guarantee. Firstly, ink tank printers will reduce your on-going printing costs. This is particularly present for high colour photos and colourful printing. Secondly, every time you refill your continuous ink printer, you will typically receive higher page yields as there is less wastage. Unlike inkjet printers, which are awesome in their own right, continuous ink printers do not suffer from 'low ink' warnings as frequently. Therefore, you can be sure you are squeezing the most out of each ink refill you purchase. Finally, and equally as importantly, the quality of continuous ink printers are just as good (if not better) as high-end inkjet printers. So, while you pay more upfront to acquire the printer, over the course of a few years, your printing costs are reduced without loss of quality.
Should you be a regular printer of colour documents, you are most likely to see the benefits of ink tanks. However, for the less frequent printer, all the positives of ink tank printers are somewhat lost. For those of you who print ever so occassionally, an inkjet printer may be more suitable for you.
